The crew from The Grind Waterfowl TV spent a few days with us hunting the Platte River, and the episode is now live. Hunting Nebraska's Platte River, Season 15, Episode 5, follows Bobby and the crew through mallards working small sloughs and tributaries, Canada geese finishing over the water, and the kind of changing Nebraska weather that makes waterfowl move.

What you will see in the episode
The hunt covers the Platte River system and its surrounding waterways, the same private water our groups hunt every season. Freezing rain and fog gave way to sunshine over the course of the trip, and the birds cooperated through all of it. It is a good look at why this stretch of the Central Flyway is such a special place for waterfowl hunters: shallow braided channels, sandbars, warm-water sloughs, and big numbers of ducks and geese moving through.
You will also see what happens off the water. The crew stayed at our 14,000 square foot lodge, and the episode gives a feel for the meals, the hospitality, and the downtime that make up the rest of a River Lodge trip.
Hunt the water from the episode
Everything in the episode is part of a standard River Lodge stay. Our guided Nebraska duck and goose hunts run across more than 30,000 private acres on three river systems, with heated blinds, trained retrievers, Benelli shotguns, MIGRA ammunition, bird processing, chef-prepared meals and lodging all included. Groups that want upland birds too can add a pheasant and quail hunt behind our dogs in the afternoon.
We host one private group at a time, which makes River Lodge a natural fit for friends, families, and companies hosting clients or teams. Groups that want the same peak-migration week every year often choose a private membership. If you are comparing outfitters, our guide to choosing a Nebraska duck hunting lodge covers the questions worth asking anyone you are considering.
